"Atlantic Jack"
Woodvale Challenge Pairs
£23K or near offer
Built in 2007, "Jack" was the fastest womens' pairs boat across the Atlantic in 07/08. The hull is re-inforced with epoxy glassing giving 100% hull integrity..no leaks ! Exceptional electrics system, our batteries never dipped below 50% charge, even in 10days with no sun. At no time did we ever feel unsafe with "Jack". We had a safety rail installed above the gunwhale & found it utterly invaluable especially in rough weather, it saves you crawling along the deck on your hands & knees. However, it can also be removed if not required. The orange paintwork may not be your favourite colour, but it's VERY visible on the water, liferafts are orange for a good reason.
Sale includes: brand new DeGraaf trailer, only used 3 times. 5 x Xcell oars with rowing shaft ( more durable than thinner sculling shafts ) . 1 x 12ft & 1 x 9ft para-anchors, 2 x drogues, 1 x 50m line & other assorted ropes. Solas B liferaft in valise ( new in 2007 ) Grab bag & all contents to Solas B standard, including Katadyn 06 Survivor. All mandatory electrical equipment: Sea-Me, AIS receiver, fixed & handheld GPS ( Garmin ), fixed & waterproof handheld VHF. Waterproof Electrics system designed & fitted by Mark Humphries of Kilworth Marine Services: battery monitor/regulator & instrument panel can be totally submerged and will still work. Powered by 6 x Barden solar panels giving 162 peak Watts, to 2 x 80amp Sonnenschein batteries ( OK'd by Woodvale even though not 85amp ) Iridium sat phone, data kit & computer cables, charger is integral to internal electrics. External cabin mounted ariel gives perfect reception even when inside with cabin door shut. Other bits & pieces eg, several aquapacs, dry bags, anchor & chain/line, luxury quick drying matresses, Force 10 stove & endless advice if required !
Will need new rudder & transom brackets/attachments. Footplate steering currently in stern position. Can also be hand steered with rope from either position. Our Katadyn 40E watermaker was faulty, we are currently in negotiation with Katadyn for a replacement, so you may get a brand new watermaker thrown in.
conditon of sale: Of course I understand that if you are lucky enough to get a big sponsor, then of course you can change the name. All I ask is that if you don't get a tital sponsor, please consider keeping the name?

due to some loss of kit, namely the liferaft
Atlantic Jack is now reduced to £19,700
will also consider offers
Even with the broken rudder, this was the fastest women's pairs boat across the Atlantic in 07/08, even beating another womens 4 and a men's pair.
Call Cath 07958 962422, AJ is available to view at my work address at Heathrow |
