Does anyone have any fairly new 2.98m oars - preferably Barca with ordinary blades - that they are prepared to sell?
Many thanks

Now I have to reveal my ignorance of the intricacies of rowing geometry George.
You could be offering genuine technical advice - in which case, thanks very much.
Or you could be taking the rip out of my request for such a precise length by suggesting only 4cm longer.
I've rowed the boat for at least 10 strokes but I couldn't tell you if 2.98 or 3.02 would be better. But it did 6.5 knots with the engine and 4 with the sails!
Cheers

Hi Charlie,
No, not taking the rip (moi?)! we used 302's, as did Queensgate, Barbra Ivy, All Relative, Gurka Spirit, more or less everyone with that hull I believe. I'm not up to speed on the geometry either, but I do know 302's were the right length. I think 4cm would make a difference.
Cheers

Simon

Thanks Simon
We did get hold of some in the end. And the experts are right, 3.02 is better than 2.98.
Cheers
